2nd - 4th grade P.E. with Health
Teacher: Ashley Knickerbocker (ashley@email@example.com)
Description: This class will get students moving! We will play active games and learn the importance of physical activity for our bodies. We will discuss important health-related topics such as how to eat healthy and why exercise is important for our muscles and bones. Students will practice important movement and coordination skills, including dynamic activities such as running, jumping, obstacles courses, team-based games like capture the flag, and exercises to improve fitness. The class will also practice controlling body movement through static activities requiring balance and muscle awareness, such as “freeze” or “statue” games and exercises that require holding a pose for a period of time. The games and activities in this class will allow students to practice following directions and participating as part of a team. A perfect afternoon class for students of all ages, this class will be fun, exciting and active!
Text: No text is required; I will often send home information about what we’ve learned, fun take-home activities, and even instructions on how to recreate the games and dances at home if desired.
