Teacher: Jordan Kincaid (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Drawing is for the art student looking to advance their drawing skills. Traditional skills that include the use of form, light/shadow, composition, perspective, and other basic techniques and concepts will be reviewed. Additionally, students will be introduced to new techniques to aid in estimating size and visualizing proportional relationships, practicing visual perception skills, drawing from direct observation and exercises that help the brain “see” like an artist. Students will work primarily in black and white media (graphite/charcoal) on a variety of papers to complete major projects (taking more than 1 class period to complete). A sketchbook is required for the completion of preliminary sketches and drawing exercises. The student is expected to develop disciplined work habits, participate in class critiques, and gain an understanding of the visual artist’s formal language.
Supply Fee: $45 (to be paid to Jordan Kincaid by September 6)
Tuition: $380 ($38 per month for ten months, August - May)
