English 1

English 1 will focus on word analysis skills, vocabulary, reading comprehension, capitalization, punctuation; rhyming words, compound words, synonyms, antonyms, homonyms, and contractions; prefixes and suffixes; alphabetizing words; and writing original stories on specific topics. The weekly spelling instruction will complement skills learned in both phonics and language. Students will be expected to complete lessons from their Letters and Sounds book, Language book, and 1 Spelling activity each week.

Kahoots, songs, games, and activities will be incorporated into the lessons to help reach all types of learners and to keep learning fun!
