English 3
Students will build strong language arts foundations through instruction in sentence structure, parts of speech, and writing across a variety of genres. The class will also emphasize advanced phonemic awareness skills, helping students recognize sound patterns and apply them confidently to reading and spelling.
Spelling patterns and practical strategies for correct application will be reinforced, along with essential dictionary and thesaurus skills. Students will complete independent reading assignments along with corresponding activities designed to strengthen comprehension, critical thinking, and engagement with the text. Students are expected to complete weekly lessons in both their English and Spelling workbooks as part of this course.
All lessons are taught from a biblical worldview, helping students recognize God’s design and purpose in the gift of communication and language.
