Pre-Requisites: Because we want our students to have an experience that allows for their writing skills to be taken to the next level, a writing sample using writing prompts provided by Bridge Academy is required from any student who has not taken an English class with us in the previous year and who would like to enroll in a high school level English course. If you are interested in your student enrolling in this course and your student is currently enrolled in an English course at Bridge Academy, their current English instructor or Alicia Collins can help determine the next best English course for them. If you wish your student to take this course but they are not enrolled at Bridge, please contact Alicia Collins at firstname.lastname@example.org or Emily Kirtlan @email@example.com to set up an appointment to have your student complete and submit their writing sample.

ABOUT THE TEACHER
B.A. International Affairs
Mercy attended the University of Mary Washington where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Affairs, and attended the College of Education for History and Social Studies. After teaching in Chesterfield County for three years, she transitioned into full-time ministry at her Church where she was the Kids Director for six years. During her time in ministry, she oversaw curriculum, family resources, and events for kids ages preschool – 5th grade. After having her second child, she transitioned out of ministry to pursue being home with her kids, with the intention to homeschool her children. She still plays an active role at her church as a girl’s high school small group leader.
