Fun with Food

Description: This 4th-6th grade class will make learning about foods and the many ways to prepare them fun! Students will learn the basics around the kitchen and how to use the tools needed to master some of their favorites as well as some foods that may be new to them. New ways to prepare and present foods, such as making edible arrangements, will sure to be fun for all. In addition to making yummy foods to eat each week, we will also have special projects throughout the year such as making cookies for our local firefighters!

Lynn grew up in Pennsylvania as a PK (preacher's kid) until after graduation when she joined the Army. She has lived in Virginia since 1997 but still claims her Yankee roots. Lynn has an AA degree in Psychology from Allegany College in Cumberland, MD then followed her true passion by earning a Culinary Arts degree from Johnson & Wales University, Norfolk VA campus class of 2003. Lynn has worked in the food world as a barista, sweets baker, fine dining, B&B breakfast chef, prepared food production and instructor for SCCA co-op & Edible Education.
