Psalm 32:8

Middle School English

Teacher: Julia Poynter

In this class, middle school students will develop their skills of description, exposition, narration, and reflection as they practice the writing process. Students will brainstorm, draft, revise, and edit content that is relevant to their audience and purpose as they learn to express themselves clearly and confidently through a variety of writing assignments. The grammar component of the class will focus on basics that are necessary for proper structure and mechanics in writing. Literature units will also be included. Students will read two novels, several short stories, and a selection of poetry. They will complete related assignments. Since the class meets once a week and class time is limited, parents are encouraged to assign additional literature.
