Modern American History
Teacher: Julie Hobbs
Description: This high school course is designed as an intensive survey of American history from Reconstruction through to the 21st Century. Although the student will develop a solid chronological timeline, the emphasis of the class will be on understanding the “who, what and why” behind the events that shaped our history and critically analyzing how those events affect our lives today. The class will have a socratic element as the students discuss the decisions and philosophies of the leaders as well as history labs to further explore the topics.
