P.E. & Games
Description: This class is geared for 3rd - 5th graders and will get students moving! We will play active games and learn the importance of physical activity for our bodies. We will briefly discuss important health-related topics such as how to eat healthy and why exercise is important for our muscles and bones. Students will practice important movement and coordination skills, including dynamic activities such as running, jumping, obstacles courses, team-based games like capture the flag, and exercises to improve fitness. The class will also practice controlling body movement through static activities requiring balance and muscle awareness, such as “freeze” or “statue” games and exercises that require holding a pose for a period of time. The games and activities in this class will allow students to practice following directions and participating as part of a team. A perfect afternoon class for students of all ages, this class will be fun, exciting and active!

Savanna Bruce has been a part of the Bridge Academy family since her Sophomore year and is currently pursuing her dream of becoming an elementary teacher. Her goal is to teach elementary students at a homeschool co-op like Bridge Academy! She plans to remain at John Tyler Community College for another year, her 3rd year of college, before transferring to Longwood University to finish her degree. Savanna loves children and exploring ways to ignite their imaginations in learning. Savanna loves farm life and enjoys singing and playing her cello.
