Digital Photography w/Photpshop
Teacher: Amanda Crawford (email@example.com)
Welcome to Digital Photography with Photoshop for grades 8 th and up! This class will be taught in the form of concept to application and then a class discussion/critique. We will explore the elements of exposure as it relates to aperture, shutter speed and ISO and their relationship to depth of field and more. There will be an emphasis on what makes a creative exposure not just a correct exposure. As important as understanding exposure so is composition. We will study and learn what " rules" bring together a creative composition. Each class, students will be presented with a photography concept and in turn, will be required to use this concept in a weekly photo session on their own and to produce one image that best depicts the assigned concept. The image will be uploaded to Engrade and critiqued in class the following week. Students will be graded on completion and effort. At the year's end, each student will select one favorite image to print and then mat and frame their print. We will hold a photography exhibit to showcase your student's work at Open House in February/March of 2018. My goal is to have each student view light as a tool, using it to present their personal perspective of the world around them. We will also explore the world of Photoshop and Lightroom through the use of Adobe’s Creative Cloud. We will learn to edit photographs like the pros. As a class, we will take the basics of photography and artistic composition to the digital darkroom where the sky’s the limit. Adobe’s Creative Cloud photography subscription not only offers photoshop and lightroom but also mobile editing and website making for portfolio use.
