Bridge Academy

Psalm 32:8

Science 5

Description: This class is meant to be a fun, introductory science class for your 5th graders, focusing on Plants, The Human Body, and Animals. The lessons will be read prior to class each week, at home, and will vary in length from 2 to 5 lessons each week. It sounds like a lot but the lessons are very easy to read, and most are only a few pages long. Each week, we will discuss the previous week's reading material in class, read the special feature pages in class together, and engage with a hands-on type of activity to reinforce what we've read that week. Because this is a 5th grade class, and not a high school science course, I will be handing out quizzes to be completed at home after each unit, and vocabulary words and weekly questions for each week. Reading is essential to this class, therefore they will receive 80% for their weekly reading, 10% for their vocab words and 10% for their weekly questions. An easy 100% for simply doing the reading, vocab and questions each week. Each quiz will be graded for completion- please make sure your student brings their completed tests in and we will discuss them in class.
