Bridge Academy

“What can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them” (Rom 1:19). It’s so true! Biology is the incredible study of life that God has created. Megan developed a love for the “study of life” at university. Unfortunately, she grew up, like most people, confused about how the Bible and science work together. After graduating, she had the privilege to teach a group of homeschool students, who opened her eyes to the facts of Creation Science. They changed her life! Since then, she has loved learning and teaching about God’s eternal power and His divine nature at work in creation. She's had the joy of teaching in public, private, co-op and international schools, everything from science and English, to ESL. Megan loves teaching her students at Bridge Academy!

Amanda has a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and was formerly a first grade teacher at Richmond Christian School. From an early age, her heart's desire was to be a teacher, and she was so blessed to see God bring that dream come to fruition! Amanda has a wonderful husband and two handsome sons. She homeschools her sons who keep her on her toes, keep her laughing, and make her life so full! She loves Jesus, reading and studying God's Word, spending time with her family and friends, singing, organizing her home, and spending time outside in God's creation. She sings on the praise team and in the choir at her church and serves as a teacher in the Awana program. Amanda loves children and is beyond excited to get to know and work with the sweet kindergarteners at Bridge! It's going to be a wonderful year!

Mindy received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from BYU. She is a California native but has also lived in Northern Virginia, Idaho and Utah. Mindy and her family finally settled down in the Richmond area in 2018. She loves it here and couldn’t imagine a better place to raise her family. Mindy has experience working with children as a special education aid in an elementary school, as a swim coach in the summers, and through various church teaching roles throughout the years. She enjoys traveling, gardening, painting, and pretty much any kind of crafting her girls will put up with. She has four children that all attend Bridge Academy.

Tasha was raised in the Sunshine State before relocating to VA to attend the University of Richmond.  She earned her B.S in Health and Sports Science and later her Teachers Certification in K-12 Health/PE and Driver’s Education. The bulk of her teaching experience has come at the secondary level, but in recent years she’s expanded to a wider range of age groups which includes early elementary. Outside of the classroom, Tasha gives her time to her local church serving the needs of the body from Children’s Ministry, Youth and beyond. Tasha is grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Bridge Academy family where teaching is fun, engaging and most importantly Christ-centered.

Jennifer is a native of Chesterfield County. She attended Radford University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing in 2003. She has 20+ years experience as a Registered Nurse. Jennifer graduated from Liberty University with a Masters Degree in Nursing Education in 2017 and went on to work as a professor for a local University for 3 years. She is currently a full-time wife and homeschool mom to her two boys: Caleb & Chase. She has a passion for learning new things and enjoys singing, gardening, taking beach vacations and family time.

Jennifer was born and lived her early years in Columbus, Ohio, and remains a Buckeye at heart. She trained and practiced as an endocrinologist, until feeling called by the Lord to leave private practice and homeschool her children full time. She and her husband John have now been homeschooling their six children since 2009, and have thus far graduated three! Jennifer and her family worship and serve at Parkway Baptist Church in Moseley, VA.

John Wolfgang has a background in electrical, computer, and software engineering, with a masters degree from Carnegie Mellon University. John and his wife (who generously wrote this bio for him) began homeschooling their 6 children 15 years ago and have graduated their two oldest. John enjoys spending time with family, woodworking, sharing Bible-based personal finance teaching with anyone who will listen, and avoiding most white-colored foods. His favorite color is orange, his favorite drink is unflavored sparkling water, and he grew up in Hershey, PA (and yes, it really used to smell like chocolate there before they moved the chocolate factory).
