Fiber Arts (7th-12th)

Fiber Arts encompasses many disciplines. In this class we'll explore embroidery, felting, weaving, dyeing, beading and batik. This class is appropriate for all levels of experience, from those who have never threaded a needle or created a weaving to those who have already practiced hand stitching or have previous fiber arts experience. We'll spend time laying a foundation, practicing new techniques in class, looking at modern fiber artists for inspiration and designing artworks that will delight and surprise students. Students can anticipate creating wall hangings, needle felted animals, wearable art pieces, ornaments and more. Students will be expected to work on some projects outside of class and to bring them to class each week. Students must be able to use all materials, responsibly. All supplies are included.
