Books & Cooks

Budding literary foodies unite! Books and Cooks will appeal to your child’s growing love of literature as well as delight their taste buds. Using all new stories and recipes, we will be incorporating literature into the kitchen while learning basic cooking skills and kitchen safety. Students will be trying new and familiar foods that are inspired by our book of the week. Come join us as we eat our way through some wonderful stories! (2026-2027)

Required Text: None
Copy/Supply Fee: $85 (due to Emerald Soldan at Orientation or first class attended)
Tuition: $370 ($37/month for 10 months, August-May, or $42/month if prorated)

ABOUT THE TEACHER

Emerald Soldan

B.A. English
M.A. Teaching

Emerald grew up in a small town on the peninsula of Virginia. She attended a Christian school, K-12th grade, and went on to Christopher Newport University to earn her degrees in English and in Teaching. Her marriage to her husband, Chris, brought her to Richmond. She is a mom of two who both attend Bridge Academy. She has always had a love of helping others learn and always knew she would be an educator in some capacity. Before becoming a mom, Emerald taught Kindergarten and Second grade at Banner Christian. She has been a homeschool mom for 5 years and thoroughly enjoys the homeschool life.
