Brain Builders: Building Logic & Social Skills through Play

Brain Builders Level 1 is a hands-on, play-based logic lab designed to help young learners strengthen their thinking skills in a fun, low-pressure environment. Through engaging puzzles, games, riddles, and visual challenges, students learn how to think—not what to think.

In this class, children practice noticing patterns, making predictions, sorting and classifying information, and explaining their reasoning out loud. Activities are carefully structured to be accessible for early elementary learners while still encouraging deep thinking. Students build confidence as they learn that it’s okay to make mistakes, try again, and revise their thinking.

This class is ideal for students who love puzzles and for those who need extra support building confidence with problem-solving and reasoning.

Jenny Smith, Shae Weyant

Jenny Smith
B.S. in Biology
Masters in Teaching

Jenny was born and raised in Chesterfield County and holds a Biology degree from Lynchburg College, along with a Master’s in Teaching. She has taught high school science in Chesterfield County Public Schools and is grateful to be part of the Bridge Academy community. Jenny and her husband—her best friend—are raising four children together. Outside the classroom, she enjoys family life, embracing a cozy, home-centered rhythm.

Shae Weyant
Masters in Elementary Education

Shae graduated from Liberty University with her Master’s in Teaching: Elementary Education and immediately started working in the private Christian school sector. While she loved her time teaching private school, she really felt the Lord calling her to make a change and begin homeschooling her two children, Lacey and Lincoln. When she mentioned the idea to her husband Ricky, he was completely on-board, and they haven’t looked back since! Being able to continue her teaching career through her switch to Bridge, has really shown first-hand the provision of God in her life. She can now spend more time with her family, volunteer more at her church, and create connections with her students at Bridge that hopefully last a lifetime!
