Emerald grew up in a small town on the peninsula of Virginia. She attended a private Christian school k-12th grade and went on to Christopher Newport University where she earned both a degree in English and in Teaching. Her marriage to her husband brought her to Richmond where her family has grown. She is the mom of two blessing from God, one of which will be joining her at the Bridge. She has always had a love of helping others learn and always knew she would be an educator in some capacity. Emerald taught Kindergarten and Second grade at Banner Christian before her first blessing arrived; she then volunteered and eventually became staff at her church in the following years. She has been a homeschool mom for 2 years and thoroughly enjoys the homeschool life. Her biggest passion is for families who welcome kids in their home and children who are adopted or in foster care. Emerald and her family are very excited to join the Bridge Academy.
