American Girl History (4th-6th)
Join us for an engaging journey through American history as told through the lives of the American Girl characters! American Girl History is designed to bring United States history to life through engaging stories, hands-on activities, and creative projects. Students will explore U.S. history from the 1700s through the mid-20th century by seeing life through the eyes of the American Girl characters who lived during those times- learning what daily life was like, how people worked and played, what they ate, and how major events shaped their communities. Each unit centers on one historical girl and her time period. During class, students will participate in discussions, crafts, games, map work, and hands-on activities that deepen understanding of both historical facts and lived experience. At home, students will have assigned reading and short assignments, as well as one creative project at the end of each unit using flexible, choice-based options. (2026-2027)
