Forensic Science
Forensic Science is offered exclusively to high school students and explains the science used in forensic science techniques, specific types of evidence and the techniques to collect and analyze the evidence. The topics covered include crime scene investigation; the collection, handling, and examination of trace evidence such as hair, fibers, soil, pollen and grass; fingerprint, blood and blood spatter examination; DNA, drug, handwriting and tool mark analysis; impressions; ballistics; forensic anthropology; and the determination of the cause and time of death. The class balances extensive scientific concepts with hands-on classroom and lab activities, readings and intriguing case studies.

Supply/copy fee: $60.00 (paid directly to Becky Massey at Orientation or at the first class attended)
Annual tuition: $505.00 per year ($50.50/month for 10 months, August – May)

ABOUT THE TEACHER
Becky Massey
B.S. in Criminal Justice
Becky began teaching at Bridge Academy in 2017. She graduated from VCU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Justice. She worked with the Chesterfield County Police as an Evidence Technician. She was among the first civilians hired for crime scene investigations for the department. Becky is currently the Student Ministries Director at Thrive Church. She also oversees the Young Adult Ministry, Celebrate Recovery Ministry and Missions.
Becky has lived in the area her entire life. She has two boys who graduated from Bridge Academy. Becky and her family have a heart for missions both locally and internationally. They have been traveling to Nicaragua for the past 13 years, where they have made lifelong friendships.
